For Sale at EMS: Concert Grand Piano in Brazilian rosewood by Erard, London, 1867. This Victorian-period piano is a fine antique in superb condition inside and out. The price is $18,000 CAD. The famous Erard action is all original, a rare example of the historically important double-escapement action pioneered by this maker. It is straight-strung, with a blacked composite cast-iron plate mortised into the case, giving it a unique period sound and appearance. The case interior is figured maple, with turned rosewood legs and carved details, ivory keyboard, original tuning pins, new strings and hammer-heads. The instrument is very stable and has been scrupulously maintained. A complete description and photos are found on our website: www.earlymusicstudio.com.
Shipping to any Canadian or US destination is easily arranged. Shipping to a US destination requires a CITES permit for the ivory keyboard, which normally requires an estimated two-week period.
